London cardiac partnership consultants featured in the Titled doctors guide 2013

London Cardiac Partnership’s Consultant Cardiologist’s Dr Charles Knight, Dr Sam Mohiddin and Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon Mr Kit Wong who practice at BMI The London Independent Hospital have been selected, by a panel of distinguished GPs and fellow consultants, to be included in a guide to Britain’s 250 best doctors. Produced as a supplement by Tatler magazine, the ‘Doctors Guide’, now in its fourth edition, recognises the brightest and most respected surgeons, doctors and medical experts in the UK.

Covering 34 categories, from allergies through cardiology to vascular surgery, the guide’s introduction from its editor, Jessie Hewitson, states: “Our aim was to make it simple to find the leading, most experienced consultants. To do this Tatler assembled a panel of respected GPs and top-of-their-tree surgeons and physicians, and asked them who are the best in their fields. Which doctors, in short, they ask to treat their own families. For anyone searching for the right doctor who wants to start at the top, this is the guide for them.”

Speaking on Dr Knight’s work in field of Cardiology the Tatler guide states:

“Head of the cardiac unit at Barts – one of the biggest in the country – this respected consultant has helped pioneer nonsurgical treatments for patients with heart-muscle disease. With 20 years’ experience as a cardiologist, the keen gardener and bridge player has performed more than 4,000 angioplasty and stent and has a particular interest in chest-pain assessment.”

Speaking on Dr Mohiddin’s work in field of Cardiology the Tatler guide states:

“Mohiddin was one of the consultants who treated Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba, who had a cardiac arrest during a match, and is an expert at MRI diagnostics. Many of his patients have hereditary conditions that affect other family members. His treatments include drugs, alcohol septal ablation (injecting alcohol into the heart to relieve obstruction) and device therapies such as pacemakers and defibrillators.”

Speaking on Mr Wong’s work in field of Cardiothoracic Surgery the Tatler guide states:

“Wong is clinical director for cardiothoracic surgery at Barts and specialises in multiple arterial bypass grafting, keyhole and mitral- and aortic-valve surgery, as well as ‘beating heart’ coronary-artery surgery. Despite the large number of complex interventions he performs, patients tell us he is relaxed and caring – equally reassuring is his zero per cent mortality rate for first-time aortic-valve replacement over the past three years.”
